Our Birthday party to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday was a wonderful day despite the shower of rain.  40 volunteers helped 330 young people and 70 Leaders have an afternoon of fun activities followed by afternoon tea. The girls made crowns, did a quiz, made broaches and fridge magnets, hunted for the fairy queen and made crafts from commonwealth countries. We had our own queen Elizabeth for the day and the girls could have their photos taken with a cardboard version of the real Queen.

Tea was finger sandwiches followed by cakes. The ‘queen’ cut the cake and we all sang the National Anthem and Happy birthday, accompanied by Barbara Abbott’s husband on the trumpet.
Then all the girls went home with their goody cups containing coins and part of the royal cake – Lovely.
Thanks to Unum who let us use their car park.
